1. Examination Architecture
The UPSC Civil Services Examination is a marathon conducted over a year, designed to select candidates for prestigious services like the IAS, IPS, and IFS. It is structured into three consecutive phases:

- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change No specialized knowledge needed, but awareness of current ecological treaties is vital.
- General Science Everyday application of science and new emerging technologies like AI/Space.
CSAT Paper-II

Papers A & B — Qualifying Languages
Paper A: One Indian Language from the 8th Schedule. Sections include comprehension, précis, vocabulary, short essays, and translation. Exempt for candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and certain PwBD categories.
Paper B: English Language. Mirrors the structure of Paper A to test basic linguistic competency.
Paper-I: Essay

4. Personality Test (Interview)
Carrying 275 marks, the final stage is not a test of knowledge—which has already been assessed—but a structured interaction with a Board of competent observers.
It assesses mental alertness, critical assimilation, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, variety and depth of interest, capacity for social cohesion and leadership, and moral integrity. 5. Eligibility & Attempts
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India (for IAS, IPS, IFS).
- Education: Must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Age Limit: Minimum 21 years. Maximum 32 years for General category, 35 for OBC (+3), 37 for SC/ST (+5), and 42 for PwBD (+10).
- Number of Attempts: General (6 attempts), OBC (9 attempts), SC/ST (Unlimited attempts until the age limit).
